Front Desk Receptionist-Weekends + Weekday Shifts

Weekend Receptionist East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park and Mortuary is seeking a compassionate, professional, and dependable Weekend Receptionist to join our team. This position is ideal for someone seeking weekend-only work, supplemental income, or semi-retirement employment.

This role is scheduled primarily on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional opportunities for additional weekday coverage if desired.

As the first point of contact for families and visitors, our receptionists play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience for those we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet families, visitors, and vendors with professionalism, warmth, and compassion

Answer a high volume of incoming calls promptly and courteously

Screen and transfer calls appropriately and take detailed messages when necessary

Maintain daily phone and service records accurately

Assist families and visitors with locating gravesites, crypts, and niches

Ensure the front desk and reception area remain organized and welcoming

Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages

Provide administrative support to Funeral Directors and Family Service Counselors

Order and maintain office supplies

Assist with special projects and additional office duties as assigned

Qualifications Prior receptionist, customer service, front desk, or administrative experience preferred

Professional communication and phone etiquette

Friendly, dependable, and compassionate demeanor

Ability to multitask in a busy environment

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Comfortable assisting families during sensitive or emotional situations

Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required

Additional office administration or customer service training is a plus

Computer Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to learn industry-specific software systems

Schedule Primarily Saturdays and Sundays

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Occasional weekday fill-in opportunities available, but not required
