Position Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a float position, primarily working in a Day 3x12-Hour shift format from 07:00 to 19:30. Ideal candidates will possess experience in charge nursing and cardiac step-down units, although these skills are not mandatory. The nurse will float to various departments, including Med-Surg and Telemetry, based on the institution's needs.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population that may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical units.
Manage a patient-to-nurse ratio that varies from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on the unit's acuity.
Perform charge responsibilities as needed in small units, overseeing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination.
Assist in the management and interpretation of telemetry and dysrhythmias.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 2 years of charge nursing experience.
Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.
Experience with the EPIC charting system is necessary.
Must hold a valid compact nursing license.
Previous experience working in the U.S. healthcare system is essential; Canadian experience will not be considered.
Work Environment
This position is within a Short Term Acute Care facility with a total of 325 staffed beds. Daily census and patient mix can vary significantly, requiring adaptability and teamwork to effectively address patient needs.
Schedule and Commitment
The RN will work a 3x12-hour shift schedule, including weekends, and must be committed to working at least three of the five major holidays throughout the year. Specific scheduling requests must be made at the time of application.

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
