Registered Nurse Pool Labor Delivery Nights

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor & Delivery Float Pool team. You will have the opportunity to support a variety of specialized Women's Services units across the hospital including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, High Risk Perinatal and the Antenatal Testing Center. This role will be full-time, night shift; Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience.

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships

Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice

Supports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions

Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning

Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation

Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives

Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes

Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members

If Critical Care unit, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support upon start; If Pediatric unit, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse; if Critical Care Unit, minimum 1 year clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship

Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree; If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
