Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our busy 21-bed Renal Med-Surg unit, specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. This high-acuity unit manages a diverse patient population requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate is confident in managing renal-related complications while thriving in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients.
Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs.
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry.
Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Float to similar Med-Surg units as needed, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders.
Qualifications
Active RN license in Ohio (required at submission).
Current BLS certification.
Minimum of 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience (renal experience strongly preferred).
Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips.
Competency test required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination.
Proficiency in Epic EMR (mandatory, no training provided).
Lack of Epic proficiency results in immediate termination.
Additional Information
No on-call requirement.
Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking skills in a high-volume setting.
Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract.
All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission.
