Please Note: We will only contact candidates regarding your applications from one of the following domains: @net, @villagemd.Position Summary: The Oncology Nurse Compounding Coordinator will provide oncology pharmaceutical care services using approved protocols in collaboration with other health professionals, including supervision of the preparation of commercial IV admixtures and continuous quality improvement. Verify appropriateness during order entry. Assure that all medications meet the highest standards in quality and preparation of final dosage form, neatness and labeling.

• Understands the functions of each institutional and drug information system and demonstrates an ability to effectively use each system. Establishes and maintains effective communication with compounding staff members, other health care disciplines and patients providing drug information.
• Conducts patient medication history inquiries and drug information requests upon referral from physicians and other medical personnel.

Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs or drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics.
Communicates and documents findings with prescribers and provides appropriate alternatives to current treatment plans as needed in Intellidose & respective EHR.
Develop and participate in operational and clinical projects as determined by current departmental needs and ongoing projects.
Assures ongoing performance improvement of the compounding care services provided.
Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account
Working under a Biological Safety Cabinet to compound hazardous sterile preparations & a Laminar Air Flow Hood to compound nonhazardous sterile preparations
Endurance, (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking)
Environmental Risks:
~ Chemicals, Hazardous Drugs, and Fumes

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
RN required.
NY State Board of Nursing license required.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail).
Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment required.
Prior Oncology experience: Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.

Pay Range: $43.61 - $54.52 Hourly
