Berkeley County is West Virginia's fastest growing county, and the Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority is growing too! We are a 911 EMS agency and the sole provider of emergency medical services for the county apart from the City of Martinsburg. We operate 10 units daily across 6 stations and respond to about 15,000 calls for service every year. We pride ourselves in maintaining a modern fleet, equipment, and facilities along with high quality training provided to our staff monthly to help our clinicians continue to grow.

A 24/48 work schedule with a skip shift (Kelly Day) every 7th Shift
An employee wellness program which includes help with physical and mental fitness as well as a peer-to-peer support team.
The Paramedic is typically the highest trained provider on the ambulance and is therefore the lead for the crew. The schedule for this position is two 24 hour shifts per week which equals 96 hours per 2 week pay period. The BCEAA schedule is 24/48 rotation with a Kelly day every 7 shifts.

The ability to communicate effectively via telephone and radio
The ability to spontaneously respond to the demands of emergency health care
Responds to EMS incidents and assists in emergency activities.
Drives and operates ambulances in emergent and non-emergent situations.
Operates EMS equipment.
Cleans, maintains, and makes minor repairs to EMS equipment.
Participates in routinely scheduled in-service training.
May become a trainer for students and new hire employees.
Successful of a nationally accredited Paramedic training program and the National Registry Paramedic cognitive and psychomotor examination.
