Ultra I&C is hiring multiple Model Based Systems Engineers to join us in our Austin, TX or Huntsville, AL locations. This position will lead a variety of system design and development efforts across a series of new programs within our organization. The Systems Engineer will tackle complex technical challenges and provide expert-level analysis and judgment in support of critical defense programs.
Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
Must be able to defend work and design approach following a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Works to place planning and reflection cadences into use across multiple project teams with the goal of synchronizing team members and activities.
Strives to increase the efficiency of development practices by guiding the flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables.
Familiar with a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices.
Develops/writes system test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards (IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation etc.).
Simulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.
Writes detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field.
Government Security Clearance required (U.8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field, including proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation.
3+ years of experience with tactical data links including Link 16
3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance
Safe Engineering experience
Understanding of new product Life Cycle to include: system design, development, integration, test, delivery, product support and retirement
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA AeroIT.
Holds or willing to work towards Systems Engineering Professional Certification (e.g. Due to the nature of the programs we deliver for our customers, candidates may need to obtain the relevant security clearance or handle export-controlled material as defined by the role's requirements.
