1,500 (full shift rate) 69.9 hours worked: $1,050 (partial shift rate) 35.9 hours worked: $750 (short-shift rate) Location: Larimer county, Colorado

Status: PRN- days and/or nights

An Acute Care Medical Provider is needed for PRN shifts to help us in our endeavor to build the healthiest community in the nation one person at a time. This position will be based at the new and innovative acute care behavioral health facility, which opened in late 2023. SummitStone has the privilege of partnering closely with Larimer County on this venture. We provide comprehensive and collaborative care to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

The advanced practice provider (PA or NP) will provide professional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients at our acute care facility. The role could include rounding on clients admitted to our crisis and/or detox units or seeing walk-in clients in our behavioral health urgent care. Coverage needs exist during day, night, and weekend shifts.

Function as the medical team representative to a multidisciplinary treatment team designed to offer comprehensive behavioral health services

Evaluate patients for substance use and medical disorders, determine the appropriate course of treatment for the clients

Provide direct client care centering the voice of the client in an inpatient setting.

Diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for a variety of acute and chronic illnesses with an emphasis on substance use and mental health.

Assess client health by interviewing clients, performing physical examinations, reviewing medications, and reviewing medical histories

Manage acute and chronic illnesses with a primary focus on behavioral health- mental illness and substance use.

Interpret and evaluate client data to determine client management and treatment options.

Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as withdrawal, acute intoxication, cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, and convulsions.

Document client care services by charting client and department records.

Instruct and counsel clients by describing therapeutic regimens, growth and development information, discussing reproductive health, providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing client management plan.

Master's degree from an accredited educational program in either Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) required

More than four years of experience working in a related field required

More than two years of experience in treating and servicing persons with substance use and mental health needs preferred

License to practice medicine in the state of Colorado as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) required

Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred
