Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. Role will conceptualize, execute, and ensure quality throughout the design process to meet our clients’ needs and expectations.Your Key ResponsibilitiesComprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.Manage the complete design and scope of services for each project; identify any inconsistencies and address them with the client and Project ManagerDelegate the designing of engineering subsystems to team members in their disciplineManage and deliver the detailed design of the entire engineering system; apply extensive knowledge of building codes and standards; perform equipment selectionManage technical risk, quality, and avoid redesign.Coordinate with other disciplines ensuring all automation and controls-related work is incorporated into the design.Follows Stantec’s quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority.flexible and collaborative.Participate in the preparation, review, and approval of RFPs response content and pricing.Acts as supervisor and resource to technical design team; supports and assists staff education and development.Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attends meetings / seminars / conferences and/or write articles for trade magazines.)Your Capabilities and CredentialsComprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.Strong communicator who effectively conveys scope, schedule, and budget to clients, co-workers, and technical teams (e.g. work plan, statement of work, and 2-way communication.)flexible and collaborative.Education and ExperienceAccredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.Experience in engineering design, consulting, or other facets of DDC or PLC industry for tenant improvement projects, new construction buildings, central plant work, existing facility upgrades or related markets.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
