Facilities Management has a mission to make the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth a place where the facilities and grounds are aesthetically pleasing, clean, well maintained, and energy-efficient. Facilities Management provides responsive, friendly, and efficient customer support to appropriately support the institutional mission.
The Facilities Management Services Administration Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Senior Custodian to join their team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Dust all vertical horizontal surfaces, sweep, vacuum carpet, spot clean walls as needed. Wet/dry mop floors, clean/disinfect restrooms, restock supplies, polish stainless/chrome, spot clean glass/mirrors. Spot clean upholstery and other duties as needed. Be able to use a computer for emails, calendar, eLeave and evaluations. High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; Comprehensive understanding of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and products used in custodial work.
Knowledge of principles and practices of employee supervision, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Knowledge of inventory control. Understanding of inventory management for cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of custodial staff effectively.
Ability to communicate to a bilingual staff.
Skill in customer service. Proficiency in providing excellent customer service to building occupants and responding to their needs promptly.
Ability to notice and address cleanliness and maintenance issues promptly.
Competence in using custodial equipment and technology, such as automated cleaning machines and ARCHIBUS.
Bilingual. Ensure prompt customer service. Performs routine supervisory work including clerical responsibilities such as generating electronic documents, emailing, and basic computation.
Assists in establishing goals and objectives for team through performance management system.
Supervises and assigns the work of others as well as performs all custodial and floor care work as needed in order to ensure completeness.
Maintains supplies and equipment (e.g. cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, mops, disaster water and supplies) for the purpose of ensuring the required items are available as needed to perform cleaning functions and safety.
Performs regular routine quality inspections. Responsible for floor care schedules and work orders of assigned buildings.
Assists Custodial Foreperson with custodial supplies and equipment as well as custodial inventory management.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
Environmental Hazards
Work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Mon-Fri 4:30pm -1 am Some weekends/holidays required as needed. Driving University Vehicle
