Cost Accountant
To perform accounting functions for the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, including coordinating and preparing the completion of Farm Bureau's annual expense budgets. To perform expense variance analysis, maintain and develop analysis reports as needed, assist in the supervision of the accounts payable function, file Personal Property Tax reporting, and maintain Farm Bureau vendor contracts. To assist with special projects to meet accounting and reporting objectives. Coordinate the preparation and completion of all Farm Bureau Insurance expense budgets. Run monthly depreciation expense in Great Plains and account for all fixed asset disposals and acquisitions of the companies.
Research, explain, and respond to questions and challenges concerning the companies' expense variance issues and offer solutions to expense issues as they relate to accounting and budgeting.
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related field required.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products required.
Insurance accounting experience preferred.
