Registered Nurse Weekend Emergency Department Night Shift

6/16 START DATE ONLY- BACKFILL POSITION

• *Telemetry, L/D, Emergency and Critical Care RN's will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite, day one. This is a PASS/FAIL test!
• *Holiday RTO will be considered, however not guaranteed**

• Unit: ER
• # beds: 28 beds, 4 fast track, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
• Certs: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC is preferred
• Ratios: 1 to 4
• EMR: Cerner
• Charge Nurse: yes - do not take pt assignment
• Nurse Aides: EMT's, one on per shift, also a midshift EMT, they do tech duties
• Weekend Requirement: every other
• Holidays: work into perm staff rotation
• Scrub Color: navy
• Tele: Client
• Vents: yes
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: hosp 24/7 and intensivist 24/7
• IV Team: no
• RT 24/7: yes
• Pharmacy 24/7: yes
• Call: one day per month, if it is your call teams turn it could be 2 days per month, when call schedule comes out you have 3 days to sign up before you are just assigned to call
• Shifts: 12 hr, days are 6a-6p, mids have varied starts between 9a-3p, nights have varied start times between 4p-7p, made out at least 2 weeks in advance, self scheduling by seniority
• Floating: no
• Floor specific orientation: 2-3 shifts
• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 155 patients per day, trauma, stroke, peds, psych, etc.
• Additional Notes: Candidates must have 2 years experience in specialty, travel experience preferred, trying to work on teamwork environment, want someone who can come in and lead that campaign and help to increase team effort in the ER, some travelers are able to take trauma patients depending on their experience, they do a lot of things according to seniority in unit, want candidates with level II trauma expereince or above, candidates must have experience working in an ER that is high volume and high acuity
