Special Process EngineerTekberry is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Special Process Engineer to support industrial operations within a complex manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating and controlling Special Processes (SP) across the full industrial lifecycle—from design and industrialization through manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert for special processes, supporting cross-functional teams to ensure robust industrial performance, quality, safety, and compliance while driving process improvements and supporting technology transfers.ResponsibilitiesIndustrialization & Process DevelopmentSupport concurrent engineering activities by integrating industrial constraints and special process requirements into product design and manufacturing strategiesIdentify and manage industrial risks through Process FMEA and associated action plansDefine Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rules, tooling requirements, and workstation layoutsDevelop and maintain industrial documentation, including industrial data sheets and Industrial Maturity Follow-Up (IMFU) documentationQualify product and process combinations and validate industrial meansConduct line balancing studies, estimate manufacturing times, and optimize workflowsSupport validation activities including FAR, FAI, FMR, and SMR assessmentsSupport introduction and validation of new technologies and processesManufacturing & Continuous ImprovementSupport production teams in achieving Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectivesMonitor daily process performance and resolve manufacturing issuesLead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for process non-conformitiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, ergonomics, and EHS performanceSupport industrialization of engineering changes, retrofits, and process modificationsConduct industrial return-of-experience (REX) assessments and implement lessons learnedSupplier & Cross-Functional SupportCollaborate with engineering, quality, sourcing, supply chain, and manufacturing teamsSupport supplier qualification, development, and special process implementation activitiesParticipate in audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standardsSupport technology transfer activities, including documentation, validation, and trainingTrain operators, production leaders, and support functions on special process requirements and business rulesMust-Have QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or related field)Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial methods, industrial engineering, or manufacturing engineeringMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with bonding, painting, or other special manufacturing processesMinimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft ExcelExperience writing manufacturing work instructions and industrial documentationExperience with process improvement methodologies and manufacturing process developmentStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with a high level of autonomy and rigorStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience within transportation, railway, aviation, bus, automotive, or other industrial manufacturing environmentsExperience with Process FMEA, QRQC, and Lean Manufacturing principlesExperience with ERP systems such as SAP for Bills of Material, routings, and configuration managementKnowledge of Quality systems, EHS standards, and ergonomicsExperience with CAD and PLM tools such as CATIA or DELMIAExperience participating in technology transfer and industrialization activitiesProven training and knowledge transfer capabilitiesExperience working within international organizationsStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skillsInnovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvementWork EnvironmentManufacturing and industrial production environmentRequires regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, sourcing, and supplier teamsRequires adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and manufacturing safety standardsMay require flexibility to support rotating shifts and changing business needs
