Description:
The registered nurse is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
This includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care in an acute setting.
The nurse delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in the assigned area.
They develop, implement, and coordinate a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Collaborative relationships are fostered and maintained between patients, their family, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communication.
Adhering to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations is essential to promote an optimal patient experience.
Demonstrated general knowledge and competence regarding nursing theories, concepts, and practices is required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is also necessary.
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local, state, and federal regulations is important.
Possessing written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals, is crucial.
Time management and organizational skills are essential, allowing for the prioritization of patient care and assignments.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team while managing multiple interventions in an ever-changing environment is required.
Effective communication and engagement with team members, patients, and families in various stressful situations are vital.
Using existing procedures and critical thinking to identify and solve routine or complex problems is part of the job.
Maintaining the privacy of each patient’s protected health information is a critical responsibility.
Building collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives is expected.
