Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse with experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, you will play a vital role in our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare plans tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Your role will involve providing direct nursing care, administering medications, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with developmental disabilities to determine their healthcare needs and develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations.

Monitor clients' vital signs and condition, promptly identifying and addressing any changes or concerns.

Collaborate with healthcare providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate and optimize the care provided to clients.

Educate clients, their families, and support staff on healthcare plans, medications, and preventive measures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with (ICF/IID) guidelines.

Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Advocate for the rights and dignity of individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting a person-centered approach to care.

Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients, implementing infection control measures and emergency protocols as needed.

Provide emotional support to clients and their families, fostering a compassionate and empathetic approach to care.

Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in ICF/IID or developmental disabilities.

Knowledge of ICF/IID regulations and guidelines is highly desirable.

CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
