First-time travelers are accepted.
Patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
Description:
The unit focuses on renal medical surgical care.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6.
The unit has 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48.
Experience with Epic charting system is required.
The nurse will be required to float within the facility as needed.
Weekends are expected every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
There are no call requirements.
If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work it.
If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work both holidays.
If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work two of the holidays.
The major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
Failure to be compliant in time may result in a two-week delay in starting due to the orientation schedule.
Preferred skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood product administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tube management, Colostomy/ileostomy care, Feeding tube management, High flow nasal cannula, Insulin management, Isolation precautions, Med/Surg nursing, Nasal cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, PCA, Peripheral line care, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Pre/Post hemodialysis management, Renal failure treatment, IV initiation and maintenance, Surgical drain care, Telemetry, and wound care.
Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams including IV, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy services.
Patient diagnoses will primarily include renal medical surgical cases.
Candidates should be prepared for thorough compliance onboarding processes.
