Job Summary Full-Time Registered Nurse - Allergy at our Midwood Office. The Registered Nurse - Allergy will provide a high level of general care, vial mixing, administering allergy shots, and educating patients by using their knowledge and skills to promote the goal of The Ultimate Patient Experience. Schedule Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7;Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.
Registered Nurse - Allergy Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s).
Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Administers prescribed testing (including skin prick testing and intradermal testing), medications and treatments.
Maintains immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials. Administer allergy shots and ensuring provider is on site.
Assesses patients’ needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems.
Maintains accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR.
Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations, informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.
Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in provision of quality patient care.
Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date.
Regularly interact with physicians and other providers and staff to identify and resolve problems.
Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.
Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
Pass the NCLEX-RN or state approved comparison.
Active Registered Nurse license in appropriate state.
Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent patient relations and customer services skills.
Open availability to work during weekdays.
