Part Time Remote Contract Attorney

About This Role We are seeking a Contract Attorney to join a growing boutique practice in a flexible, remote-friendly, part-time capacity with meaningful substantive responsibility and long-term growth potential.

This is not a traditional part-time or contract overflow role. It is designed for an attorney who can actively engage in sophisticated legal work, exercise strong judgment, and contribute to a meaningful legal service delivery model within a collaborative firm structure.

You will work directly with the founding attorney, manage active legal matters, and provide strategic legal counsel while collaborating closely with firm staff in a relationship-driven practice environment.

This role is best suited for an attorney who wants flexibility in structure while remaining actively engaged in substantive legal work, with the potential to grow into expanded responsibility over time within a firm that values legal excellence and entrepreneurial thinking.

What You’ll Do

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, contracts, and settlement-related documents
• Draft legal communications to supervising attorney, opposing counsel, and clients
• Support litigation matters through legal research, drafting, and case analysis
• Collaborate with firm leadership on legal strategy and client experience

What We’re Looking For

• 3–8+ years of litigation or transactional business/commercial law experience
• Licensed in Iowa and/or New York (preferred)
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and client communication skills
• Ability to independently manage matters workflow on various assignments at a time, with appropriate collaboration and support
• Comfortable working directly with business owners and decision-makers
• Interest in long-term client relationships and firm growth (preferred)
• Familiarity with modern legal technology, including Westlaw and AI-assisted workflows (preferred)

Compensation & Structure

• Averaging approximately 10–20 hours per week initially
• Estimated compensation range: $100–$150/hour based on experience and responsibility
