Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for the comprehensive care of a designated group of patients for a specific timeframe. Utilizing a therapeutic approach, the nursing process, and collaboration with healthcare team members, the nurse provides high-quality care in adherence to established standards and core values.
Nursing Process:
Determine appropriate nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
Formulate a prioritized, goal-directed plan of care based on clinical judgments and patient needs.
Implementation:
Provide care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner.
Document patient care activities accurately and timely within the patient record.

Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by self and other healthcare team members.
Quality of Care:
Maintain a strong focus on safety and adhere to protocols in emergency situations.
Demonstrate knowledge-based care and decision-making for designated patient populations.
Follow all relevant Medical Center, Division of Nursing, and Unit-specific policies and procedures.
Incorporate hourly rounding into daily practice to enhance patient care.

Professional Performance:
Demonstrate awareness of legal issues in patient care and unit operations.
Engage in ongoing education and development of nursing skills and knowledge.
Build effective working relationships with all healthcare team members and patients.

Prioritize patient care based on essential needs and available unit resources.

The GI Registered Nurse will work with both outpatient and inpatient populations and will participate in on-call duties as necessary, usually once a week and every sixth weekend. Prior experience or training in Endoscopy is preferred.
