Job Description JOB OPENING FOR: Deputy TreasurerIN THEWashington County Treasurer's OfficeFULL TIME WITH BENEFITS$21.26 per hour/40 HOURS PER WEEK Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and confident working with numbers and financial records? Washington County is seeking a dependable and motivated Deputy Treasurer to join our Treasurer's Office team. This position plays a key role in serving the public, processing property tax payments, managing county revenues, and supporting daily financial operations. What You'll Do-Receive and process tax payments and county revenues.-Post payments and maintain accurate financial records.-Prepare receipts, bank deposits, and daily balancing reports.-Assist customers in person and over the phone with tax-related questions.-Process electronic payments and credit card transactions.-Research tax accounts, delinquent taxes, and refund requests.-Support audits and maintain compliance with state and county regulations.-Prepare financial reports and update fund balances. What We're Looking For-High school diploma or equivalent.-Background in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related fields.-Two years of progressively responsible office or financial experience.-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.-Strong customer service and communication skills.-Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.-Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch. Bonus Skills-Experience with cash handling and balancing cash drawers is a plus.-Experience processing payments, reconciling accounts, or working with financial records is highly desirable.
