The Occupational Therapist must use purposeful, goal directed activities and task analysis to enable a child with a disability to benefit from his or her Individualized Education Program (IEP) while promoting functional independence and participation within the educational environment.

Position Summary: The Occupational Therapist must use purposeful, goal directed activities and task analysis to enable a child with a disability to benefit from his or her Individualized Education Program (IEP) while promoting functional independence and participation within the educational environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Registered Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students with suspected disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed evaluation reports, progress reports, and IEP goals/objectives that comply with applicable guidelines and standards.
Develop, implement, and document direct and consultative occupational therapy services aligned with students' IEPs and 504 Plans.
Provide individualized therapeutic interventions, program planning, family education, and consultation to support student success across educational settings.
Maintain compliance with professional ethical standards, district policies, and state and federal special education requirements.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, administrators, parents, and support staff, to ensure coordinated student services.
Provide parent education and resources related to child and adolescent development, therapeutic strategies, and home-based support techniques.
Maintain and organize occupational therapy equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
Keep supervisors informed of significant concerns, potential issues, or unusual situations impacting student services or program operations.
