Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist for a caseload within Bessemer City School District. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by evaluating and diagnosing speech and language disorders, developing individualized therapy plans, collaborating with educators and families, supporting classroom carryover of communication skills, maintaining student records, and helping students reach their maximum academic and social potential. **Why Join Us*** Competitive pay (Up to $37-40/hour) + steady school-year schedule* W-2 employment with liability insurance included* Healthcare benefits\* + 401(k) with company match* Reimbursement for licensure, CEUs, and professional expenses* Mileage reimbursement between sites + referral bonuses**What You’ll Do*** Conducts evaluation of students with communicative disorders.* Evaluates and diagnoses speech and language disorders.* Develops and implements individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of each student receiving therapy service.* Refers students to other professional and community agencies.* Consults with classroom teachers and other school personnel to facilitate carry-over therapy gains into classroom activity.* Assists teachers in the identification of children with communicative disorders.* Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and Leadership.* Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.* What We’re Looking For*** Active (or eligible) Alabama State SLP license* Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with endorsement in Speech Language Pathology.* Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology* Strong communication and collaboration skills* School-based experience preferred, not required**About Ampersand Therapy** Ampersand Therapy is a women- and therapist-operated company built by providers who understand school-based work.
