Finance Estimator

Our client is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team in Richardson. Looking for candidates with manufacturing experience and at least 3years of cost accounting experience.

Cost Accounting & Analysis

Develop and review monthly reports on production costs, margins, and operational performance

Maintain and validate product costing data, including materials, labor, and overhead components

Reconcile inventory balances, including work-in-process, and ensure alignment between systems and financial records

Oversee inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions

Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with detailed production and cost data

Assist with pricing analysis and initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency

General Accounting Duties

Prepare and record journal entries related to inventory, accruals, and cost adjustments

Perform account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity

Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with accounting standards

Provide support during internal and external audits, including documentation and analysis

Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required

3–7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting

Familiarity with inventory processes, product costing, and production flows

Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis

Experience with inventory valuation and reconciliation processes

Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools

Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, pivot tables, formulas)

Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial teams

Background in manufacturing, industrial, or production-based industries

Lean or Six Sigma)

Advanced reporting or data analytics capabilities

Regular interaction with both office and production environments

Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
