Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This role requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Nurses work together in teams and receive support from healthcare staff. Responsibilities may include floating to various departments as needed. Weekend shifts and potential holiday shifts may be required based on department needs. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
