Director of Operations

Interview, train, and schedule Housekeeping staff.

Conduct performance evaluations and coaching & counseling sessions when needed.

Establish detailed cleaning and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the immaculate appearance of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Monitor staff’s activities to ensure that standards are being met, staff is being supported, and guest needs and requests are being fulfilled.

Work directly with contractors to ensure quality and timeliness of work.

Resolve customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism and accommodating special requests whenever possible.

Assure the financial goals of the department are being met.

Monitor and control departmental expenses, including labor, uniforms, linens, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and contract services.

Participate in periodic linen, uniform, and supplies inventories.

Ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment.

Prepare the Housekeeping department’s annual budget for labor and operating expense and propose items to be included in the annual Capital Plan.

Ensure the effective operation of the laundry department.

Three to five years of experience as a Housekeeping Manager in a luxury hotel/resort preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
