HCA's Needed- Personal Care

Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel the Patient Care Technician II through communication requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment coordinates the activities of the nursing staff patient physician other hospital departments and visitors. The position performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

BP Temperature Pulse Respirations & O2 sat) weighing patients assisting with personal hygiene / AM Care (i.e. Oral Care Bathing the patient etc.) assisting with bedpans and toileting catheter care empty drains turning bedridden patients or patients that need assistance with turning linen changes assisting with meal preparation feeding patients I&O light cleaning and organizing of patients room answering call lights and relaying pertinent information to the nurse.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of data collected.
Assumes clerical duties necessary to assist the healthcare team to provide patient care.
Receives and directs phone calls and serves as the receptionist for the department.
Maintains supplies/inventory for department.
Uses computer system to locate orders retrieves patient information calls STAT and cancels orders and prints daily census. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facility meeting goals and objectives.

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Minimum Work Experience

~6 months Experience in a healthcare related field or actively enrolled in a pre-nursing or nursing program and pursuing a nursing degree. BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients families and healthcare team members.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Basic computer knowledge.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to document and utilize electronic health record applications.
Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
