Caseworker (Full Time)

The incumbent is assigned as a Social Work Supervisor in the Primary Care - Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) program located at the Chillicothe - OH VA Medical Center - reporting to the Outpatient Manager - Mental Health service line. At this level - the incumbent will coordinate and manage the administrative and clinical aspects of the PCMHI and is responsible for managing its day-to-day operations.

English Language Proficiency - Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.Education - Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited

A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work

License - You must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level

Examples of specialized experience at the GS-11 include - but are not limited to: assessing and documenting identified behaviors or symptoms of abuse - neglect - exploitation and/or intimate partner violence

use of clinical social work skills

maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality per policies - handbooks or directives

acting as an advocate with appropriate community service providers and agencies when it serves the best interest of the patient and family members/caregiver

Licensure Requirement: You must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level - and must be able to provide supervision for licensure

Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision - consultation - negotiation with other departments and quality improvement

Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services

Ability to provide staff training and development

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12

Typically - the employee will sit to perform administrative work

crouching - reaching - and lifting of a variety of moderately heavy items - carrying of light items such as papers - books - small parts

or driving an automobile to outreach to other CBOCs or the main facility primary care teams
