About the Opportunity NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time opportunity in Silver Spring, Maryland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with oncology and/or radiation oncology experience to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team while providing exceptional clinical care, patient education, and treatment support.
Administer medications and therapies as ordered by the physician.
Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and patient care.
Triage patient phone calls and respond to medication refill requests.
Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatments.
Collaborate with physicians, Medical Assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Follow all safety protocols related to oncology treatments, hazardous materials, and radiation oncology environments.
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; Active Maryland RN license.
3 5 years of nursing experience preferred.
At least 1 year of oncology experience preferred.
Previous Radiation Oncology experience is highly preferred.
Oncology certification such as OCN is a plus.
Experience in outpatient oncology, cancer care, infusion, or radiation oncology is preferred.
