Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:00 - 19:00), every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care in the emergency department, ensuring lifeline support and effective management of emergency situations. RNs will work with a mixed/shared acuity of patients and must possess strong phlebotomy and IV placement competencies.

Responsibilities

Assess and manage emergency situations for adult and pediatric patients.

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and administer emergency medications.

Perform phlebotomy, start and manage IVs, and administer blood products and vasopressors.

Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and emergency protocols.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, rapid response teams, and social services.

Float to other areas as needed when census warrants.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an ER RN.

Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement is mandatory.

Certifications / Licensure

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.

New York state RN license required at the time of submission.
