The Family Medicine Physician works as part of the medical provider team providing medical services to Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL) patients. In addition, Family Medicine Physicians, unless specifically exempted by the Medical Director, shall be qualified to serve on the Medical Staff of a local hospital and supervise community health center nurse practitioners, as appropriate. Respond to patients' medical issues by starting with their history.

Order radiology and laboratory tests and refer patients to specialists when necessary.

Advise patients on lifestyle and diet changes that could help improve their health or treat the health problem they have

Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Keep up-to-date with medical procedures, developments, treatments and available medication.

Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. Licensure: License to practice medicine in the State of Texas, board certified or board eligible. Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of a branch of medicine; and knowledge of the methods, techniques, literature, practices, and principles of the broad field of medical science. Language: English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred Travel: Occasionally Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.

The ability to manage other people involved in a patient's care

Mastery of all medical instruments needed for treatment

The ability to provide accurate, effective care, even under pressure
