PartTime Kitchen Dishwasher

Overview / Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and diligent individual to join our team as a part‑time Kitchen Porter. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen during lunchtime service. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all dishes and utensils are washed, sanitized, and stored efficiently, allowing our kitchen staff to operate smoothly and provide exceptional service to our customers.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

Sort, rinse, and load dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware into the dishwasher, ensuring proper arrangement and efficient use of space.

Add detergent, rinse aid, and other cleaning agents to the dishwasher as needed.

Monitor the dishwasher's operation and temperature to ensure effective cleaning and sanitization.

Unload clean dishes, utensils, and glassware, inspecting them for cleanliness and proper storage.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dishwashing area, including removing trash, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.

The ideal candidate would support kitchen staff by aiding in basic food prep tasks during downtimes, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Work collaboratively for efficient operations, handle food deliveries, and assist in food prep as feasible. Communicate equipment issues and supply shortages to relevant personnel.

Experience & Skills Needed

Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is

Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute to a cohesive team environment.

Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
