When standard components don't solve a problem, our engineers design the solution from the ground up.We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support production for our semiconductor processing equipment customers. In this role, you'll bridge the gap between design and the production floor - making sure every job released to production is backed by accurate, current work instructions and bills of materials, and that our documentation stays perfectly aligned with customer requirements.What You'll DoDesign and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-systems in SolidWorks, including custom tooling and fixturing to support assembly and disassembly of parts and sub-assembliesPerform tolerance and thermal engineering analyses to validate that designs meet customer functional and performance requirementsApply CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, and GD&T to solve complex mechanical problemsIdentify design tradeoffs and technical risks, and independently troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervisionCollaborate cross-functionally with electrical, quality, and manufacturing engineers to align on technical interfaces and drive design reviewsCreate and maintain comprehensive design documentation - CAD models, drawings, specifications - with accurate revision controlDraft and maintain accurate, current work instructions, bills of materials, and inspection checklists for the production floorComplete first article inspection (FAIR) reports and packaging specifications in line with customer requirementsInterface with WCM engineering staff, shop floor employees, and inside sales to keep documentation and production aligned with the latest customer revisionsDesign fixturing using WCM's 3D printers or generate specifications for outside subcontractorsConsult with Materials Control and Purchasing to source materials for parts and projectsCreate presentations for management and engineering staff, and perform final inspection sign-off with manager or senior inspector approvalMaintain complete and accurate final folders - work instructions, first article notes, customer specs, test data, and part photosWhat You BringFour-year engineering degree from an accredited college or university2+ years of proficiency with SolidWorks (required); experience with electronic components and assemblies is a plusProficiency with PowerPoint and ExcelAbility to work effectively with people across different levels and departments of the organizationExperience interfacing between an engineering department and customers is a plusExperience in a production or manufacturing role within aerospace, medical device, semiconductor processing equipment, or contract manufacturing is preferredWhat We Offer401(k) with company matchingMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementReferral programA genuine small-company culture where your engineering work directly shapes what gets built - and is noticed and valuedSalary Range: $80,000 to $100,000 Annual About West Coast MagneticsWe're not a company that settles for "standard."
