BUYER I - PURCHASING & WAREHOUSING

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join a well-established leader in the industrial distribution and engineered solutions industry , serving manufacturers and industrial customers across the country. Position Summary The Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory and customer-specific products while ensuring timely delivery, accurate pricing, and strong communication between vendors, warehouse operations, and internal teams. This role requires someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and keeping multiple priorities organized in a fast-paced distribution environment. This position will work closely with purchasing leadership while serving as the primary Buyer for the Columbus location. Responsibilities Create and manage purchase orders for stock, backorders, special orders, and direct shipments. Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate delays. Monitor supplier price increases and maintain accurate purchasing records. Run and analyze daily and weekly purchasing reports using Excel. Maintain accurate product, vendor, and purchasing data within the ERP system. Partner with warehouse personnel to investigate inventory and receiving discrepancies. Assist with ongoing data cleanup and process improvements. Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to ensure efficient order fulfillment. Support additional purchasing and inventory initiatives as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, or order expediting required. Experience working within a distribution, wholesale, or industrial environment strongly preferred. Understanding of purchasing fundamentals and inventory management. Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including running reports and working with spreadsheets. Previous warehouse or inventory experience is a plus.
