A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients.

The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development, emphasizing evidence-based practice and education.

The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.

Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care.

The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.

The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring/precepting staff.
Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions.

• Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising the plan as indicated.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services, utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patients, and families.
• Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
• Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs, as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge.
• Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes.
• Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.

One weekend shift per 6-week schedule and no more than one holiday per contract period.
