Seasonal Lead Barista

LEAD BARISTA The Lead Barista helps ensure that Ayu Bakehouse’s coffee program consistently delivers excellent drinks, thoughtful service, and genuine hospitality. This role supports the development of our barista team, maintains beverage quality and consistency, and works with the owners to evolve our coffee and beverage program.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Train and onboard new baristas in espresso preparation, milk texturing, latte art, drink building, and hospitality.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to help baristas develop their skills and maintain Ayu standards.

Conduct regular quality checks and calibrate espresso and recipes as needed.

Collaborate with the owners to develop and test seasonal drinks and beverage specials.

Keep bar recipes and training materials current and accessible to the team.

Model excellent hospitality, service, organization, and pace during shifts.

Maintain a clean, organized bar and monitor beverage inventory and supplies.

Communicate effectively with the team and management to support smooth service and coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong passion for coffee, creativity, and hospitality.

Advanced knowledge of espresso preparation, milk texturing, and latte art.

Experience training or mentoring baristas preferred.

Knowledge of food safety, allergen protocols, and DOH standards.

Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, organized, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
