Even fewer get to build one at a moment when banking itself is being reinvented.But International Fintechs and non-US banks are left with two unsatisfying options to access it: Either they build on legacy clearing banks that are slow and unreliable, or they interface with middleware providers that don't move and hold the dollars directly, but themselves rely on underlying legacy banks. A real, national bank charter (in organization), and Marble, our proprietary core banking system, built around intelligence, made of code.We are backed with more than $200M from Peter Thiel's Valar Ventures, Tiger Global, Hummingbird, QED, Creandum, and the founders of Nubank, Ramp, Deel, Circle, Fluidstack, Fuse, and n8n.Now, we are building the US team from the ground up, while continuing to grow rapidly in Europe.The RoleYou own Banking Experience: the accounts at the center of customer's relationship with the bank, and the API and dashboards they use to manage them.In this role you're responsible for redefining what beautiful software in banking looks like. You'll define account structures that give customers powerful building blocks for their products, and craft intuitive interfaces grounded in a deep understanding of their use cases and workflows.You report to Will, Head of Product, and work closely with Simon, our CTO. Your First Six MonthsMonths 1-2: Take over day-to-day ownership of the Banking Experience team - the roadmap, the ways of working, the hard decisions. Establish yourself with customers and how they use our accounts. You define and ship your first project.You're unblocking engineering daily, making hard prioritization calls, and shipping your roadmap to customers. You're proactively raising the bar across accounts, API, and dashboard by feeding what you learn from customers into the product.Months 5-6: You're working with live customers on the products you've built. Deposits and number of account holders are scaling. You've moved from execution to platform mode - evolving the roadmap based on what our customers are building on top of Augustus.We're building a modern correspondent bank, and we win by having a better team. This role is for you if:You want to spend time with customers to intimately understand and then innovate on their workflows.You're a structured and relentless problem solver.You have taste and care deeply about the quality of what you build.You're excited about building a programmable bank and helping shape what that means.Hard RequirementsExperience end-to-end owning and building banking, fintech, or developer platform products.You have strong opinions on information architecture and how to organize complex products so they feel simpleComfortable in customer-facing roles - you've pitched, demoed, and closed early adopters yourself.Based in New York or Berlin, or willing to relocate.Pay TransparencyCompensation packages at Augustus include base salary, equity, and benefits.
