The Procurement Specialist will provide foundational support to procurement activities, assisting in vendor management and ensuring alignment with company standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role offers an opportunity to build procurement expertise while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational needs.
Support local procurement activities and monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with Operations, Category Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to build effective working relationships and achieve desired outcomes.
Conduct site visits to prioritized locations and participate in regional and local meetings to drive procurement objectives.
Perform formal spend and cost comparison analyses and identify improvement opportunities, including:
Driving negotiations for favorable contract terms (price, quality, service, and availability).
Lead Formal RFXs (Request for Information, Proposal, or Quotation) for large projects or spend categories through company tender platform.
Complete Supplier Contracts for all on-site suppliers, large spend suppliers and specific projects per annual KPI goal.
Drive adoption of contract usage, eProcurement systems, procurement channel compliance, and supplier spend consolidation.
Support and deliver procurement and supply chain training initiatives for Division management.
Maintain alignment with the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience preferred.
2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field (aggregates, manufacturing, construction, or similar industries preferred).
Basic understanding of sourcing, negotiating, and procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services.
Proficiency with software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 35-55% of the time.
The hiring range for this position is $75,000 -$96,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
