Clinical Counselor

The University of New England (UNE) is seeking a Clinical Counselor to join our team at the Biddeford Campus. This role will focus on providing essential counseling services to support students in navigating personal, educational, and career challenges. The Clinical Counselor will also engage in crisis intervention, outreach programming, and collaboration with faculty and staff. This is a full-time, 11-month position.

Responsibilities Provide direct services in the form of short-term individual and group counseling related to students' personal, educational, and career concerns. Provide clinical and outreach services primarily on the Biddeford Campus. Provide crisis intervention for critical incidents or individual clinical emergencies, including short-term crisis therapy; assistance in managing individuals; Deliver psychoeducational outreach programming in support of the curriculum and Student Support Services mission. Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field, with an appropriate internship; In-depth understanding of counseling theories and techniques, as well as adolescent and emerging adult development theory, with an emphasis on evidence-supported treatment. Relevant training and experience as a generalist in short-term counseling, case management, group therapy, risk assessment, and crisis intervention. Strong counseling and advising skills specific to emerging adults and non-traditional-aged college students, including issues such as substance use, identity development, eating disorders, relationship concerns, and test anxiety. Strong teaching and group presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver outreach programming. Some training or experience in career assessment and counseling.
