CNC Machinist (on-site)
~ Johnson Controls is seeking to fill the position CNC Machinist, based in one of our advanced R&D facilities located in Cranston, RI.
The CNC Machinist will support R&D engineering activities by producing fixturing, prototypes, and small production runs. We require candidates to be US Citizens and/or permanent residents of the US. Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components for R&D projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and 3D models to determine machining strategies.
- Perform manual machining operations (lathe, mill, surface grinder) when required for secondary operations or basic, low volume tasks.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Associate’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a prototype or production environment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- US Citizen and/or permanent resident.
Experience within the fire protection industry.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $30/hr - $48/hr (Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) The posted range reflects the target compensation for this role.
