At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). The Human Resources Generalist is a role that will assist with tasks related to recruiting, benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, training, and special projects. First point of contact for servicing questions from employees regarding common human resource policies and procedures, including routine benefits and 401K information.
Utilize the HRIS system (Workday) on a daily basis.
Develop and provide HR data such as: detailed employee information, turnover analysis, scorecard preparation, auditor requested information, etc.
Assist with dual control, quality assurance, and/or data entry of payroll data.
Assist in the maintenance of the LMS system within HRIS system.
Assists monthly insurance invoice and COBRA reconciliation.
Assists in drafting policies and procedures.
Assists with human resources related projects.
Participates in wage and benefit survey (as needed).
Assists with recruitment activities such as phone interviews, scheduling interviews, drafting offer letter (as needed).
The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Associates degree or equivalent experience (Bachelors degree preferred).

• Previous exposure to HRIS systems a plus.
• 0-3 years of human resources/payroll experience.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
