Job Summary As an Assistant Teacher at Ivy Kids you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. This role assists with implementing curriculum activities, supervising daily classroom routines, monitoring developmental progress, maintaining accurate records, and fostering positive social and emotional growth through developmentally appropriate practices. The Assistant Teacher ensures compliance with state licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and company policies while building positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Keeps accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal notes, and attendance.
Under the direction of the lead teacher, helps to establish developmentally appropriate room arrangement, decor, and learning environments in the classroom, consistent with the program’s philosophy and goals.
Understands and adheres to Ivy Kids Personnel Policies
Maintains cleanliness and follows a 4-step sanitation process and cleaning checklist.
Properly maintains educational materials and equipment.
Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by child care licensing.
Interaction with Parents, Staff and Director Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided.
Actively participates in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.
Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled staff are not available.
Maybe required to work after hours or weekends for center events, trainings, etc.
Qualifications The assistant teacher must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience. Previous work experience is preferred.

Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
