Senior Tax Accountant (with Bonus)

Our client, a well-established public accounting firm in the Louisville area, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to take a lead role in a variety of tax, accounting, and advisory engagements while working directly with clients and firm leadership.

Unlike firms with a highly specialized focus, this role provides exposure across tax planning and compliance, financial statement work, client advisory services, year-end planning, estate planning, and trust-related engagements. Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns

Research tax issues and provide recommendations on tax planning strategies

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on tax and accounting matters

Assist with financial statement preparation and related accounting engagements

Perform and review audit, review, and compilation procedures as assigned

Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy of client financial records

Support year-end planning, estate planning, trust services, and advisory projects

Draft reports, correspondence, and client deliverables

Stay current on tax legislation, GAAP, and industry developments

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

5+ years of public accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on tax preparation and planning

Experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns

Exposure to financial statement preparation, client accounting services, or assurance engagements preferred

Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations

Ability to research complex tax issues and provide practical solutions

Proficiency with accounting and tax software

CPA designation or CPA-track preferred, but not required

Diverse public accounting experience beyond traditional tax compliance

Exposure to tax planning, estate planning, trust services, and consulting engagements
