Automation and Controls Product Engineer (Drives & Motors)

Our client is seeking an Automation Controls Product Engineer to take ownership of a growing product line and become the technical expert behind innovative automation solutions used by manufacturers across North America.

This is an opportunity to move beyond project execution and into a strategic engineering role where you’ll evaluate new technologies, influence product direction, support product launches, and work directly with suppliers and internal teams to bring world‑class automation products to market.

Serve as the technical subject matter expert for drives, motors, gearmotors, and soft starters

Develop sample applications and demonstration projects

Support new product introductions, technical documentation, training, and product lifecycle management

Drive quality improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives

Provide advanced technical support to internal teams and customers

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

7+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, system integration, product support, or product development

Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, servos, encoders, and industrial communication protocols

Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, testing, and applying automation products

Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills

Experience with UL, CSA, CE, RoHS, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks is a plus
