Description
An EWASTE+ Sort Technician is a valuable member of our electronic recycling operations. They are responsible for organizing incoming electronic equipment into categories for either proper disposal or value material to be tested for resale.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm = No Nights/NoWeekends!
40 hours guarenteed!
Duties include:
Sort & Identify incoming electronic equipment according to customer specifications.
Data Entry & Tracking – Scan serial numbers, log details in databases, and create Excel reports.
Physical Handling – Move skids, boxes, and large containers (with equipment assistance), shrink wrap pallets, and relocate items within the facility.
Secure Data Management – Remove hard drives and other components for secure destruction.
Support Team Workflow – Assist with organizing incoming loads, removing labels and cartridges, and delivering materials to designated areas.
Maintain Accurate Records – Complete tracking forms and production sheets
Pay: $17.50 an hour & a $4,000 Annual Production Incentive payed out Quarterly!
Position Requirements
Physical requirements: Lifting 40 pound objects frequently, climbing ladders, pushing and pulling equipment using a pallet jacks, walking and bending. Forklift experience and a background of manufacturing is a plus.
About the OrganizationEWASTE+ is a R2/RIOS Certified Electronics Recycler ITAD company and a licensed NAID AAA Certified Data Destruction Contractor.
EWASTE+ focuses on the recovery of value from idle, obsolete and excess electronic equipment and operates a large-scale processing facility in Victor, New York (near Rochester) and two regional consolidation facilities in Albany and New York City. In 2025, EWASTE+ expanded its footprint by adding Take 2 Recycling, based in Waterbury, Connecticut, enhancing its service reach across the Northeast.
The company utilizes environmentally sound processing methods that maximize value and recovery while eliminating disposal of electronics in landfills. EWASTE+ has been recognized as a Rochester Top 100 Company for five consecutive years and was a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal Environmental Leadership Award.
