Head of Risk Management

The Risk Management Associate is responsible for supporting the company’s risk management efforts across the portfolio, with a primary focus on insurance compliance, renewals, and claims administration. This role ensures that tenants and vendors maintain required insurance coverage, assists with policy renewals, and coordinates claim tracking and resolution to reduce liability exposure across a portfolio of real estate assets.

Tenant Insurance Compliance
expired policies, insufficient coverage, incorrect additional insured, etc.).
Coordinate with internal departments and third-party vendor to resolve non-compliance issues.
Maintain accurate compliance records.

Vendor Insurance Compliance
Collect, review, and track vendor COIs prior to contract execution and throughout engagement.
Ensure vendors meet company insurance standards (GL, WC, Auto, Umbrella, etc.).
Support onboarding process by performing insurance compliance checks.

Compile property schedules, exposure data, and loss history.
Support policy comparisons and documentation of coverage changes.

Claims Management
Intake and track insurance claims and flag incidents that could result in a claim in the future.
Maintain claim logs, documentation, and status updates.
Monitor claim progress and assist in timely resolution.
Identify trends and recurring issues to support risk reduction strategies.

Reporting & Risk Analysis
Maintain centralized tracking for compliance, renewals, and claims.
Produce regular reports on compliance rates, claims, and renewal status.
Highlight high-risk tenants, vendors, or properties.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Assist in developing and refining internal risk management procedures.
Ensure alignment with company policies and insurance requirements.
Partner with legal and operations teams on risk-related initiatives.

3-7 years of experience in risk management, insurance administration, property management, or related field.
Proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with platforms like Yardi or similar systems.
Knowledge of claims processes and documentation.
