Project Engineer – Commercial Construction Confidential Search | Chicago, IL (In-Office)

Our client is a Chicago-based commercial general contractor known for bringing clarity to complex projects-delivering fewer surprises and steady execution from start to finish across retail, hospitality, multifamily, industrial, and institutional work. Built on close collaboration with owners and partners, this firm is recognized for transparency, quality, and reliability throughout the project lifecycle. We're conducting a confidential search for a Project Engineer to support project delivery in the Chicago market.

As a Project Engineer, you'll support the project management team throughout the full construction lifecycle- from preconstruction through closeout- helping keep projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. This is a hands-on, in-office role ideal for someone looking to grow into project leadership within a collaborative commercial construction environment.

4-year BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

• 1–4 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar field/office engineering role in commercial construction
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Willingness to work in-office, Monday–Friday
