Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of experience treating critical and general care adult and pediatric patients.
Details
Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics-CRT unit
Treats critical care and general care patients, both adults and pediatrics
Uses Cerner charting system
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7pm-7am, weekdays with some weekends required
No on-call requirements
Floating within scope required as needed, including to sister facilities
Open to accommodating block schedules, though not guaranteed
Requirements
RRT or CRT license required if applicable
Minimum 1 year of experience required
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
NALS certification required for pediatric cases
First-time travelers accepted
Pending state license accepted
Additional Information
Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and oral/nasal suctioning
Provides tracheostomy care and management
Administers nebulizer treatments via hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
Manages oxygen therapy delivery via bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar
Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
Works within adult critical care and emergency department settings
Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medically exempt with documentation
COVID vaccine not required
Fit test required in advance using an approved mask, which may require travel up to 100 miles
RTO requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the next schedule and approved by the manager
Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
Current employees of the Vandalia Health System are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
Locals accepted within a 100-mile radius; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
