Project Manager II Responsibilities

May train and provide direction to Project Assistant and/or Project Manager I in maintaining project-required tracking devices.

Plan and organize a project under the direction of a Senior PM or Division Manager.

Participate in the supervision and training of Project Assistants and/or Project Manager I.

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within guidelines of corporate policies.

Negotiate the terms and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project.

Liaison with primary client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.

Under the direction of Project Manager III and/or Sr. Project Manager, support construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure the project is being built on schedule and within budget.

Anticipate, prevent, and resolve potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines.

Represent the company in project meetings.

Direct the preparation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client and negotiate all change quotations to a successful conclusion.

Prepare monthly costing reports under the supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager.

Manage the financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and maintain a good relationship with the client.

May assist with the development of new business opportunities.

Additional duties may be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a project management role.

Strong background or previous project experience with BAS / BMS Controls, Telecommunications infrastructure, EPMS, and Fire Alarm systems.

Effective performance management skills.

Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office, Oracle.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.

Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.

Professional interaction skills with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.

Travel

Up to 25% of time may be required on travel.

Working Conditions

Work performed primarily on active construction sites and at office locations.

Activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending indoors under fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

Noise level typically low to medium, may be loud on site.

Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
