Multi-Craft Field Welder

Operations

Reports To: Multi-Craft Millwright Foreman

At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer’s unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervisor. Using manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.

Performing minor maintenance to equipment.

Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.

High School diploma or GED equivalent; Two + years of experience with industrial and commercial applications.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to operate the following equipment: Hydraulic press brake, hydraulic shear, Vulcan plasma cutting table, Pittsburg machine, TDC machine, Roller machine (three types), Hand break, Bead roller machine, Bead forming machine, Stomp shear, Magna bend, Pin spot machine, Drill press, Band saw, Plasma torch, Track torch, Mig and Tig Welders, Overhead Crane, and Forklift.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
