Travel RN- Registered Nurse (Day Shift)

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position requiring scrub and circulate skills and SC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required

BLS certification required

Radiation badge required (provided by agency)

2 years of OR experience strongly preferred

Scrub experience strongly preferred

Level I Trauma center experience preferred

SSN and driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

Work in the Main Operating Room of a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital

21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics

Nursing team composed of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate

Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

On-call requirement of up to 4 shifts every 4 weeks

Weekend requirement of up to one working shift every 4 weeks

Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)

Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities

Uses Epic for charting

Provide circulating and scrub nursing support across a wide range of surgical specialties in a busy, nurse-driven department

Utilizes cutting-edge surgical technology in a Magnet-designated environment

Scrubs are provided by the facility

First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position

Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travel candidate

Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate; non-local candidates prioritized

Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local determination

All requested time off must be submitted in advance and is subject to facility approval

Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November)
